Jose Mourinho: "We deserved the victory"

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes that his side's second-half performance merited the three points earned from their 2-0 home victory over Leicester City.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho feels that his side deserved all three points in their clash with Leicester City, despite not being at their fluent best at Stamford Bridge.

Goals from Diego Costa and Eden Hazard fired the Blues to their second victory of the season, while the Foxes were left to rue a missed chance from David Nugent which could have handed them the lead.

Mourinho told Sky Sports News: "We didn't play good in the first half. Leicester came with great defensive intensity, trying to scare us in counter-attack and we were a bit slow - slow in moving the ball and slow thinking and we needed to change and we did that.

"The second half was compete control. I don't forget they had a good chance with the result 0-0 but we had so many chances, so many opportunities to score obviously we deserved the victory."

Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League after two matches.
