Manuel Pellegrini pleased with Chelsea "revenge"

Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini admits that he went into the Premier League meeting with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge looking for "revenge" for their FA Cup exit.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that he went into today's Premier League clash with Chelsea looking for "revenge" for their FA Cup defeat earlier this season.

A second-string City side were put to the sword at Stamford Bridge in the fifth round two months ago, but returned to West London today and came away with a 3-0 victory courtesy of Sergio Aguero's hat-trick.

The result took City up to third in the Premier League table, and Pellegrini was pleased with his side's "complete" performance.

"I am satisfied with the team, they played well in attacking and defending. When all the players are fit and playing together, it is another team," he told Sky Sports News.

"I knew before game that Chelsea can be difficult but I wanted revenge for the FA Cup defeat when we played here with a young team and they beat us.

"Tonight was a complete game. It is important points for the Premier League, we want to finish as near the top as we can."

Pellegrini also hailed Aguero as the best striker in the league following his three goals.
