Andre Schurrle: 'Chelsea will come back stronger'

Andre Schurrle insists that Chelsea will "come back very strong" next season.

Andre Schurrle has insisted that Chelsea will "come back very strong" next season after missing out on both the Premier League and Champions League.

The Blues secured a third-placed finish in the Premier League table on Sunday with a 2-1 win at Cardiff City.

Jose Mourinho's side also failed to reach the Champions League final following a semi-final defeat to Atletico Madrid last month.

Despite disappointment in those competitions, Schurrle is confident that he and his teammates will be challenging for silverware next season.

"It was very important to finish well. We can go into the summer break with a win for the fans," the German international told the club's official website.

"We wanted to win the Premier League and we wanted to win the Champions League. We were almost a winner but this is nothing and I'm sure we'll come back very strong next season."

Schurrle was recently named in Germany's provisional squad for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
