Chelsea reportedly intend to allow defender Fikayo Tomori to go out on loan for the upcoming campaign.

Chelsea reportedly intend to send Fikayo Tomori out on loan this season, despite the defender featuring during their pre-season fixtures.

After impressing during a spell with Derby County last season, Tomori has been attempting to impress Frank Lampard now that both men have returned to Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old helped Chelsea to a 2-1 victory over Barcelona on Tuesday, playing the final 42 minutes as the Blues edged out the La Liga champions in Japan.

However, according to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea will still send Tomori out on loan in order to give him the best chance of gaining regular first-team football.

While a temporary switch to another Premier League club appears likely, the report adds that the England Under-21 international could also move to Germany or Portugal.
