Lionel Messi wants Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso at Barcelona?

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi reportedly wants to see Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso make the switch to Camp Nou during the summer transfer window.

Lionel Messi has reportedly advised Barcelona to sign Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have failed to qualify for next season's Champions League and it has resulted in speculation over the futures of some of their key men, including Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard.

According to Don Balon, Chelsea could potentially have to contend with offers for another of their most impressive performers with Messi said to want Alonso to make the switch to Camp Nou.

The 27-year-old has spent the last two seasons at Stamford Bridge with 14 goals - as well as a number of assists - coming from 81 appearances in all competitions.

That has seemingly caught the attention of Messi, and it has been suggested that the Argentine attacker has called for the La Liga winners to make an approach for the left-sided player.

Alonso still has three years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
