Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo says that Frank Lampard would be "welcome" to join him in Turin.

Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo has encouraged Frank Lampard to join him at Juventus.

England international Lampard has been widely tipped to leave Chelsea during the summer following quotes attributed to his agent that said he would not be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Discussing Lampard's situation, 33-year-old Pirlo insisted that he would be "welcome" to sign on at the Turin-based outfit.

"They would be mad to let him leave Chelsea," Pirlo told Tuttosport. "He's still one of the best in the world. If he wants to play in Italy I would welcome him to Juventus with open arms. Lampard could have another four years at the top in Italy."

Recent reports have linked Lampard with a move to Manchester United, as well as David Beckham's former club Los Angeles Galaxy.
