Colorado Rapids have secured a 2-0 victory over bottom of the table Chivas USA thanks to strikes from Atiba Harris and Nathan Sturgis.
The hosts started the game well and could have been ahead early on when Deshorn Brown lifted a cross into the area for Harris but he could only put his header wide.
However, minutes later Harris gave his side the lead when he latched onto Chris Klute's pinpoint pass and slotted the ball past Dan Kennedy into the net.
After the break, Chivas looked to get back in the game and went close through Eric Avila but his shot from distance was easily saved by Clinton Irwin, while Jose Manuel Rivera fired an effort wide of the target.
The Rapids doubled their lead when Brian Mullan knocked the ball down the right for the run of Brown and his cross into the area found Sturgis, who made no mistake firing the ball into the net, to seal the win.
