Marouane Chamakh: "I want to stay in England"

Marouane Chamakh feels that he has finally found his feet in England and wants to stay in the Premier League, even if he does sign a new contract with Crystal Palace.

Free agent Marouane Chamakh is desperate to secure a contract at a Premier League club for next season after finally finding his feet in English football.

The Moroccan spent last year at Crystal Palace, where he scored five goals to help keep them in the top flight and rebuild his reputation after a failed stint at Arsenal.

Chamakh's Selhurst Park deal expires next month and the two parties are in talks over a possible extension, but should the negotiations break down, the 30-year-old would like to join another Premier League club.

"I am out of contract and if I do not stay at Crystal Palace I want to stay in England," Chamakh told Sky Sports News.

"I love playing in the Premier League and I was really happy with how things went last season.

"It took me a while to settle when I first came to England, like it does most players when they first come to the Premier League, but I am happy when I am playing and I want to continue doing that in the Premier League."

Chamakh netted 14 goals in 67 appearances during his three-year spell as a Gunners player.
