Preview: Derby County vs. Bournemouth

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Championship clash between Derby County and Bournemouth at Pride Park.

Derby County will attempt to extend their unbeaten home record in the Championship this season when they welcome Bournemouth to Pride Park on Tuesday evening.

The Rams have won two and drawn two of their four home league games this season, while they have taken 16 points in total to occupy sixth position in the table.

It has been a positive seven days for Derby, who overcame Reading in the League Cup during the week before beating Bolton Wanderers 2-0 in the league at the weekend.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, will enter the match off the back of an impressive 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic on Saturday. Like Derby, they were also victorious in the League Cup last week, beating Cardiff City 3-0 in Wales.

As a whole, it has been a fairly positive start to the season for Bournemouth, with 12 points from their nine matches leaving them in 14th position in the table. That said, they have won just one of their four away games in the Championship.

The corresponding match last season ended in a 1-0 Derby win, which was also the score when the two sides met in Bournemouth last November.

Derby boss Steve McClaren has no fresh injury concerns from the win over Bolton, with Chris Martin, who scored twice at the weekend, once more expected to lead the line.

Ryan Shotton and Leon Best could also both start as McClaren considers rotating his squad.

For Bournemouth, Dan Gosling and Marc Pugh are both pushing for starts after appearing from the bench last time out, while Yann Kermorgant is expected to be fit despite a slight muscle injury.
