Graham Taylor: 'Club managers don't care about national teams'

Graham Taylor believes that club managers are not interested in helping to improve national teams.

Former England and Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor has claimed that league managers have no interest in improving national teams.

Greg Dyke is due to make his first address as chairman of the Football Association, expecting to call on everyone involved in football to help shape the future of the England national team.

However, Taylor believes that top-flight managers are more interested in providing success for their club as opposed to working for the good of the national team structure.

"If you are a club manager, the club comes first, because that is who you are working for," Taylor tells BBC Radio Five Live.

"If you can find better players abroad, you will buy them from abroad, because your job is to be successful as a club manager and the international team doesn't come on your radar."

Meanwhile, England are preparing to face Moldova in a World Cup qualifier this Friday.
