Leighton Baines could reportedly be sidelined for the rest of Everton's Premier League campaign after suffering a hamstring tear.

Everton defender Leighton Baines could be out of action for the remainder of the season after reportedly suffering a hamstring tear.

The 27-year-old picked up the injury during the Toffees' 2-1 defeat to Merseyside rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final last weekend.

While it was initially believed that the full-back would overcome the hamstring problem in time for Everton's trip to Old Trafford on Sunday, it is thought that a grade two tear could keep him sidelined for four weeks, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The news would come as a blow to Toffees boss David Moyes, who does not have a like-for-like replacement for the England international.

Everton have five games left to play in the Premier League, with the club's final match being a home fixture against Newcastle United.
