Everton confirm their Premier League survival after beating Crystal Palace 3-2 at Goodison Park on Thursday evening.

Everton have confirmed their Premier League survival after beating Crystal Palace 3-2 at Goodison Park on Thursday evening.

The Toffees found themselves 2-0 down at half time following first-half goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jordan Ayew for Patrick Vieira's side.

Everton had never come from two goals behind at the interval of a Premier League game to win, but that is exactly what they achieved against the Eagles.

Defender Michael Keane halved the deficit just nine minutes into the second half with a sensational volley from Mason Holgate's knock down.

The momentum of the game completely shifted from this point and the hosts got back on level terms when Richarlison diverted in a deflected effort past Jack Butland.

The remarkable comeback was then complete just five minutes from normal time, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin powering in a header from Demarai Gray's excellent free-kick delivery, prompting celebratory scenes with fans storming the pitch at the final whistle.

Frank Lampard's side now move four points clear of both Burnley and Leeds United ahead of their final game of the season at Arsenal on Sunday, meaning their everpresence in the Premier League remains intact.

The Merseyside club hold the record for the number of top-flight years in English football - 117 - having missed only four top-flight seasons in their history, with the most recent being the 1953-54 campaign.
