Victor Anichebe is once again preferred to Nikica Jelavic for Everton as they take on Aston Villa, who make three changes to their starting lineup.

Everton boss David Moyes has once again opted to start Victor Anichebe instead of Nikica Jelavic.

Jelavic only makes the bench for the Toffees' Premier League match against Aston Villa this afternoon as Everton make one change to the side that beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 during the week, replacing Phil Neville with Darron Gibson.

Villa, meanwhile, make three changes of their own as Karim El Ahmadi, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann are named in the starting XI in place of Barry Bannan, Nathan Baker and Darren Bent.

New signings Yacouba Sylla and Simon Dawkins are both on the bench for the visitors.

Everton: Howard; Heitinga, Distin, Jagielka, Baines; Gibson, Osman, Pienaar, Fellaini, Mirallas; Anichebe
Subs: Mucha, Jelavic, Oviedo, Naismith, Hitzlsperger, Neville, Duffy

Aston Villa: Guzan; Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Bennett; Westwood, El Ahmadi, Agbonlahor, N'Zogbia; Weimann, Benteke
Subs: Given, Sylla, Bent, Holman, Bowery, Dawkins, Baker
