West Bromwich Albion confirm Victor Anichebe transfer

Victor Anichebe joins West Bromwich Albion from Everton in a deal that could be worth up to £6m.

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that the club has completed the transfer of Victor Anichebe.

Everton allowed Anichebe to move to The Hawthorns after agreeing a loan deal for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, who was also a target for West Brom earlier in the day.

However, Steve Clarke was forced to focus his attention on Anichebe when Everton won the race to bring Lukaku to Goodison Park for the season.

The fee for Anichebe could rise to £6m depending on performance-related issues.

West Brom had earlier completed a club-record deal to sign Stephane Sessegnon from Sunderland.
