Wolfsburg hammer Freiburg 5-2 in the Bundesliga with a display of attacking football.

Wolfsburg have stunned high-flying Freiburg with a thumping 5-2 win in the Bundesliga.

It was the perfect start for the home side, who went ahead through a Max Kruse strike inside the second minute, but it was soon to go downhill.

Just five minutes later Cedric Makiadi diverted a Simon Kjaer header past his own goalkeeper from a Ricardo Rodriguez cross.

Then in the 16th minute Wolfsburg completed the turnaround, Vieirinha firing into the net, before six minutes later Rodriguez again provided an assist for this time Ivica Olic to score.

The scoring was far from done. Just four minutes into the second half Olic scored his second with a header from a Fagner cross.

With 25 minutes remaining, Freiburg gave themselves a fighting chance as Johannes Flum bagged their second.

However, just to make sure of the points Diego wrapped up the scoring with Wolfsburg's fifth in injury time.
