Rene Meulensteen seeks Fulham "platform"

New Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen tells his players that they must "create a platform" to pull away from the relegation zone.

New Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen has told his players that they must "create a platform" to pull away from the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Cottagers, who play host to Tottenham Hotspur tonight, are currently three points adrift of safety in the table.

Meulensteen believes that the team needs to start putting together a string of positive results if they are to secure their survival this season.

"Fulham have had too many poor results and we must now create a platform to get away from our position," the Dutchman told BBC Sport.

Fulham have been beaten in their last five matches in the Premier League.
