Fulham were able to hold Steve Bruce's Sunderland side to a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light this afternoon.
Sunderland twice hit the woodwork in the first half, with shots from Kieran Richardson and Jack Colback bouncing off the crossbar. Meanwhile, Fulham's Dickson Etuhu came closest for the visitors, but watched Lee Cattermole clear his header off the line.
Cottagers forward Clint Dempsey had a chance to break the deadlock in the second half, but dragged his shot past the post after a Fulham counterattack.
Sunderland welcome Wigan at home next weekend, while Fulham travel to Arsenal.
