Hull City midfielder Robert Snodgrass delighted to be back playing

Robert Snodgrass expresses his relief after making his return with the Hull City Under-21s following 15 months out injured.

Hull City midfielder Robert Snodgrass has said that it "felt great" to be back playing football after 15 months out injured.

The 28-year-old joined the Tigers from Norwich City before the start of the 2014-15 season, but only made three appearances before he suffered a serious knee injury that has kept him out since.

Yesterday he returned to action by playing almost an hour for Hull's Under-21s against Crewe Alexandra.

"It felt great to be out in the fresh air, to be part of a team and to get some minutes under my belt," Snodgrass told the club website. "I feel tired after it, but I'm delighted to have come through it. It's another box ticked, so now I have to move on and tick the next one.

"I felt good out there. I made a lot of runs, a few high intensity runs as well and that was good because it shows that all of the long hours of rehab have worked.

"If the fitness side is there, then it becomes all about getting that match sharpness. I need to keep playing these games and get as much out of them as I possibly can."

Snodgrass, a Scotland international, scored 12 goals in two Premier League seasons for Norwich before Hull snapped him up following the Canaries' relegation last year.
