Mohamed Diame: "It was a very special moment"

Hull City midfielder Mohamed Diame reveals that he enjoyed scoring on his debut against his old club West Ham United in his side's 2-2 draw with the Hammers.

Hull City midfielder Mohamed Diame has admitted that it was a "special moment" for him to score on his debut against his old club West Ham United.

The 27-year-old joined Steve Bruce's side on deadline day from the Hammers and netted his first goal for the club to put them 2-1 ahead in their clash on Monday.

However, it wasn't enough to secure all three points for the Tigers as Curtis Davies scored an own goal and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Diame told the club's official website: "I enjoyed my debut very much. We wanted to win the game but in the end it was a draw and West Ham played very well.

"It was strange playing against my old team and colleagues, but it is something that I had been looking forward to while I was away on international duty.

"I was dreaming on Sunday night that I would score two, but in the end it was just one. But it was still a very special moment."

Hull are 10th in the Premier League after four matches this season.
