Ipswich Town will reportedly name Mick McCarthy as their new manager after advanced talks were held between the two parties.
The Tractor Boys, who are rockbottom in the Championship, are looking for a new boss following the mutually-agreed departure of Paul Jewell last week.
Alan Curbishley was the frontrunner for the post early on but McCarthy's odds have tumbled in the past couple of days and now Sky Sports News are suggesting that his appointment could be imminent.
According to TWTD.co.uk, McCarthy will be joined by his former assistant Terry Connor, with ex-Blue Matt Holland also taking up a role.
