How Juventus could line up against Sampdoria

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up in Sunday's Serie A clash with Sampdoria.

Massimiliano Allegri will take charge of his final Juventus match this weekend as the Italian champions end their 2018-19 Serie A campaign with a trip to Sampdoria.

Allegri will be leaving his post as head coach this summer but the Italian has managed to deliver a fifth straight Serie A crown during a hugely successful period at the helm.

The Old Lady secured their eighth straight title with a victory over Fiorentina on April 20 but have not won since, drawing with Inter Milan, Torino and Atalanta BC, in addition to losing against Roma.

Juve will be desperate to return to winning ways this weekend although it will not be straightforward against a Sampdoria side who have the leading scorer in Serie A this season, with Fabio Quagliarella netting 26 times during a fine campaign.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the Italian champions could line up in Allegri's farewell game.

POSS JUVE XI vs. SAM

Out: Douglas Costa (unknown), Mattia Perin (shoulder), Sami Khedira (knee), Joao Cancelo (nose), Blaise Matuidi (suspended), Federico Bernardeschi (suspended)
Doubtful: Giorgio Chiellini (calf)

Joao Cancelo is the latest player to join Juve's injury list with the Portugal international undergoing nose surgery. As a result, the defender will not be available this weekend, meaning that Mattia De Sciglio could start at right-back.

Douglas Costa, Mattia Perin and Sami Khedira remain on the treatment table, while Federico Bernardeschi was sent off in the 1-1 draw with Atalanta last weekend and will be unavailable. Blaise Matuidi will also serve a ban this weekend for picking up a yellow card in the same match.

Allegri will have to make a late call on Giorgio Chiellini, meanwhile, as the Italian is still struggling with a calf problem. Should the centre-back fail to make it then Martin Caceres could start alongside Leonardo Bonucci at the back.

Further forward, the fact that Mario Mandzukic is still not fully fit could mean that Paulo Dybala operates on the opposite side to Juan Cuadrado in a 4-3-3 formation.

Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, will lead the line. The Portugal international was unable to inspire the Old Lady to the Champions League title this season but has still scored 28 times in all competitions since arriving in Turin.
