Preview: Juventus vs. Cesena

Defending champions Juventus are expected to record a routine Serie A victory when they welcome newly-promoted Cesena to Turin on Wednesday.

Juventus are expected to record a routine Serie A victory when they entertain Cesena on Wednesday evening.

The Italian champions have begun their title defence with three wins and three clean sheets from as many matches.

They passed their first big test of the season on Saturday when Carlos Tevez's goal downed Massimiliano Allegri's former club AC Milan.

The Argentine striker has scored in his last three matches and will be confident of continuing that run against a Cesena side who have started the season steadily, but have never beaten Juventus.

Pierpaolo Bisoli's team have picked up four points from three games since gaining promotion back to the top flight, but threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Empoli at the weekend.

Nicola Leali and Horour Magnusson are unavailable for the visitors due to the conditions of their loan moves from Juventus, and so Federico Agliardi will likely make his first appearance of the season in goal.

Juventus will be without Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres for a few weeks after he suffered a calf strain at the San Siro, and so former Manchester United man Patrice Evra may return at left-back.

Allegri could use this match as an opportunity to rest several players ahead of the trip to Atalanta on Saturday, with Paul Pogba, Fernando Llorente and Leonardo Bonucci all having been ever-presents thus far.

Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal is still working his way back to match fitness and may start in the centre of the park.
