Claudio Ranieri reveals that he would welcome David Beckham into his Monaco squad.

Moncao manager Claudio Ranieri has admitted that he would be interested in signing David Beckham.

The former England captain is a free agent following his decision to leave MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy when his contract expired in the summer.

His services have been linked with a host of clubs, including Ligue 2 side Monaco.

When asked about the possibility of signing on for his club, Ranieri refused to rule out the notion.

"You can consider it as unreal as my presence in Monaco," Ranieri told Le Parisien. "He keeps a passion for football, that's what interests me.

"It would be helpful in all aspects of the development of the club. He could share his passion with our young players, at 37-year-old, he continues to improve and be professional.

"All young players need an experienced coach but also references in the locker room."

Beckham is expected to announce which team he is planning to join early next year.
