Preview: Rotherham United vs. Leeds United

Sports Mole looks ahead to Friday night's Championship encounter between Rotherham United and Leeds United at the New York Stadium.

The New York Stadium will host Friday evening's Yorkshire derby between Rotherham United and Leeds United as the two sides prepare to go head to head for the first time since 2008.

Prior to last week's international break, Rotherham and Leeds recorded 1-1 draws against Norwich City and Sheffield Wednesday respectively, but the Whites reside three points above Friday's rivals in the Championship table.

Rotherham, who were promoted from League One via the playoffs last season, are unbeaten in their last two matches, with their last home clash resulting in a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.

Steve Evans's side can draw on the fact that Leeds have struggled to take maximum points on the road, with just one victory coming their way away at Bournemouth last month.

Leeds's season has been dominated by changes off the field involving owner Massimo Cellino, who appointed Darko Milanic as manager in September, but the new boss got his spell at the club off to a poor start with a 2-0 defeat to Brentford.

Since then, Milanic, who has never coached in England before, has overseen two draws, but his side sit four points off a top-six place in the table.

With regards to team news, Rotherham have been dealt a blow with the loss of Norwich City loanee Luciano Becchio, who will not face his former club tomorrow after being ruled out for around three months with a broken ankle.

Matt Derbyshire and Alex Revell are likely to pose the attacking threat for the home side, while Gaetano Berardi and Rodolph Austin could keep their places in Leeds's starting lineup.
