Preston North End have confirmed that they have rejected a written transfer request from in-demand striker Jordan Hugill.
The 25-year-old is reportedly wanted by a host of Championship clubs before Thursday's transfer deadline, with Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reading all understood to have seen official bids rejected this summer.
Sunderland and Leeds United have also been linked with the forward, but the club have now released an official statement confirming that he will not leave the club.
"Preston North End can confirm that Jordan Hugill has today handed in a written transfer request," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The club have rejected this request and will not be selling him in this transfer window."
Hugill, who signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Deepdale in October 2015, has scored three goals in six outings across all competitions so far this season.
