Half-Time Report: Sheffield Wednesday's Michail Antonio pegs back Leicester City

Michail Antonio scores on his return to the Sheffield Wednesday side to score their equaliser in an open first half against Championship leaders Leicester City.

Michail Antonio scored on his return to action for Sheffield Wednesday to cancel out Riyad Mahrez's opener for Leicester City in the first half of their Championship match at the King Power Stadium tonight.

Mahrez netted after 10 minutes to give the promotion-chasing Foxes an early lead which could have been added to on several occasions before Antonio's equaliser.

Anthony Knockaert passed to Chris Wood from the left flank, and the striker shifted the ball on for the January signing from Le Havre to cut inside and calmly bend past Chris Kirkland via the post.

Knockaert had earlier sliced wide when arriving from deep to meet a cross from David Nugent, who came close to doubling Leicester's advantage with a replica effort to that of Mahrez's on the half-hour.

Wednesday were not daunted by visiting the team with the best home record in the country and named an attacking lineup, with Antonio included after having missed 10 games due to injury.

He had previously shown that he was a danger when he ran across the edge of the area to shoot powerfully at Kasper Schmeichel from distance, and the league leaders did not react to that warning sign.

Foxes full-back Richie de Laet allowed Antonio too much space to drift in from the left flank, and the Wednesday winger created room for a shot which sneaked in despite Schmeichel's strong hand.

Leicester will move to within one win of the Premier League with victory tonight.
