Wes Morgan: 'Riyad Mahrez will attract attention'

Leicester City defender Wes Morgan admits that Riyad Mahrez will attract attention from elsewhere if he continues his good form.

Leicester City defender Wes Morgan has admitted that Riyad Mahrez's form will inevitably see the winger linked with a move away from the club.

The Algerian wideman netted a hat-trick last week as the Foxes went top with a 3-0 win over Swansea City, and Morgan is wary of interest from
elsewhere in the January transfer window.

Morgan told Sky Sports News: "I know there are going to be a lot of teams watching him and defenders that come up against him are going to have nightmares playing against him.

"It just goes to show how good he really is and he is full of confidence. He will always be a threat and I am just glad he is on my team. He is a type of player who can create something out of nothing. The limelight has not been on him because of [Jamie Vardy] but he is a great player."

Morgan also reserved a word for the "incredible season" that Claudio Ranieri's side are having this term.

"I've played most of my career in the Championship and this season has been incredible," he added. "It's been a great story and I am glad to be a part of it."

The Premier League leaders host Chelsea on Monday.
