How Liverpool could line up against Huddersfield Town

Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium.

Liverpool will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.

The Reds went four games without a victory prior to the international break, having previously won all seven of their matches at the start of the campaign.

However, the title hopefuls remain level on points with Manchester City and Chelsea at the top of the table and could make their best ever start to a Premier League season with victory over the winless Terriers.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how manager Jurgen Klopp could set his side out for the match.

Possible LIV XI vs. HUD

Out: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee)
Doubtful: Mohamed Salah (muscle), Virgil van Dijk (ribs), Sadio Mane (thumb), Adam Lallana (groin), James Milner (hamstring), Naby Keita (hamstring)

The international break was not kind to Liverpool, with key first-team players Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita all picking up injuries while away with their countries.

Salah's muscle injury does not appear to be as serious as first feared and he could well start this weekend, while Van Dijk is playing through his own rib injury and is also expected to be in contention at the back.

Mane's participation is less likely after he sustained a broken thumb, and hamstring problems for midfield duo James Milner and Keita could also keep them sidelined.

Two summer signings could therefore start, with Xherdan Shaqiri first in line to replace Mane and Fabinho due to make his first Premier League start for the club.

Adam Lallana could also be involved in some capacity as he edges his way towards a return, although he is unlikely to start having managed just three minutes of football so far this season.
