Daniel Sturridge vows to come back stronger

Daniel Sturridge hails Liverpool fans for their messages of support and says that he will come back even stronger from his thigh injury.

Daniel Sturridge has thanked Liverpool fans for their support during his injury setback and vows to come back stronger.

The Reds striker was thought to be closing in on a return to first-team action after being absent since September, but the 25-year-old will not be available until January after picking up a thigh injury.

"Through all this I'm growing as a man and an athlete," Sturridge wrote on Twitter. "Everybody goes through things in their life that can make or break them. This for me is just another hurdle to jump over. Another door to break down.

"I'll be back soon enough strong and ready to play. Thanks to everyone for your support."

The England international scored 24 times in all competitions for the Anfield club last season.
