The summer transfer window has now closed and attention will begin to turn to January for Premier League champions Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp's side brought in Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas during the summer, making for one of their busier transfer windows in the last couple of years.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.
Thursday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:
Bayern Munich 'make transfer decision on David Alaba'
Bayern Munich are reportedly not prepared to sell David Alaba during the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old remains a key figure for the treble winners, contributing one goal and one assist in 10 appearances in all competitions during the 2020-21 campaign.
Alaba's contract at the Allianz Arena is due to expire next summer, though, and the two parties have not yet been able to come to an agreement over a fresh deal.
A number of clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Juventus, are said to be interested in signing the Austria international, who would be free to discuss terms with foreign clubs at the start of 2021 providing that he does not extend his contract with the European champions.
According to Bild, Bayern have ruled out a January sale as they would rather risk the possibility of losing the versatile defender on a free transfer than sanction a mid-season exit.
Alaba, who has won nine Bundesliga titles during his time with Der FCB, is allegedly open to the idea of joining a Premier League club.
Georginio Wijnaldum coy on potential new deal with Liverpool
Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum refused to provide an update on his contract situation when asked about his future at Anfield.
The 30-year-old's existing deal with the Reds is due to expire next summer, and he was strongly linked with a move to Barcelona during the recent transfer window.
Wijnaldum ultimately remained with Jurgen Klopp's side past the deadline, but there remains speculation surrounding his future as the end of his contract draws closer.
The Netherlands international has insisted that questions surrounding a potential fresh agreement should be directed towards the Premier League champions.
"I can't say anything about that," Wijnaldum told Het Parool. "Just ask Liverpool those questions. Don't they answer?
"I cannot say anything about it, including whether or not there is talk of a new contract between me and Liverpool. Sorry."
The midfielder has made 13 appearances for the Reds during the 2020-21 campaign.
