Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has hailed teammate Luis Suarez as the best striker he has ever played with.

In a Twitter question-and-answer session for sponsors Adidas with fans, the midfielder rated the Uruguayan higher than his former Reds teammate Fernando Torres and fellow England international Wayne Rooney.

Gerrard also said that he would like to bring back Xabi Alonso, who left Liverpool for Real Madrid in 2009.

"Best midfielder I've played with. I miss playing with him," said the 32-year-old.

Gerrard added that if he had to pick between playing alongside Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, he would chose the Argentine.
