Paul Ince has said that Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is not as influential a player for the club as he used to be.
The 34-year-old is in his 17th season at Anfield and has been a key part of his team's success in recent years.
However, Ince believes that the former England captain is not able to stamp his authority on matches as he did during his peak.
"Steven Gerrard is a world-class player, still. I was 35 at Wolves, he is 34. The problem he has now is that teams have latched on to him, and he is not getting as much influence on the game," he told BBC Sport.
Gerrard has scored twice for Liverpool in five appearances this season.
