Dejan Lovren: 'Roberto Firmino will keep getting better for Liverpool'

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren insists that Roberto Firmino will keep getting "better" following his impressive performance against Manchester City.

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has promised supporters that Roberto Firmino will go from strength to strength following his impressive performance against Manchester City.

The Brazilian, who joined the Reds from Hoffenheim in the summer for a reported £29m fee, scored his first goal for Liverpool in Saturday's 4-1 rout at the Etihad Stadium.

Firmino struggled to make an instant impact following his arrival on Merseyside, but Lovren has claimed that the attacker is now finding his feet.

"He's an unbelievable player," Lovren told the Liverpool Echo. "He has so much skill. Roberto scored one [against City] and could even have got a hat-trick. He creates and he scores. He has so much potential and I know he's going to get better and better for us."

The win has put Liverpool six points off a Champions League spot.
