Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers confirms Jose Enrique injury blow

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers confirms that Jose Enrique could require surgery due to a knee injury.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that full-back Jose Enrique is expected to be on the sidelines for a significant period of time due to a knee injury.

News emerged this morning claiming that the Spaniard could need surgery on his knee, resulting in a lengthy stint out of action.

Rodgers said in a press conference: "He's still in pain. I couldn't put a time on his recovery at this stage."

Aly Cissokho is Liverpool's only recognised left-back in the squad due to Enrique's absence.
