Brendan Rodgers: 'The players are giving everything'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that his players are "giving everything", despite failing to record a victory in their last three games.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that his side are lacking confidence rather than commitment after failing to record a win in three games.

The Merseyside giants have come up short against Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Hull City over the past two weeks, but Rodgers believes that his team are doing everything right to try to overcome their slump in form.

The 42-year-old told the club's official website: "I must stress that the players, like against Hull the other night, are giving absolutely everything. It's not a team that's lacking commitment and attitude.

"You saw from the game the other night they're giving everything in the game, we probably just lacked that bit of belief and confidence in and around vital areas of the field, which in the past the team has shown itself to be very strong in.

"But that's something that's natural. But make no mistake about it, the players will give everything right to the very end. Our season doesn't finish until the final whistle at Stoke."

Liverpool host Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon as they look to keep their faint hopes of Champions League qualification alive.
