Barcelona star Martin Montoya 'open to Liverpool switch this summer'

Liverpool target Martin Montoya tells Barcelona that he wants to end his Camp Nou career this summer in order to find more regular playing time, a report claims.

Martin Montoya has reportedly told Barcelona that he wants to move away from the club in the summer, which has opened the door for Liverpool to make an approach for one of their long-term targets.

The Reds are said to have been interested in signing the full-back for the past 18 months, although Barca have put paid to any transfer in the past as they felt the 23-year-old was ready to compete with Dani Alves for a starting spot.

However, having been restricted to just six league appearances this season, The Metro reports that the uncapped Spaniard is keen to bring his Camp Nou career to an end.

Montoya will now apparently listen to any offers made by Premier League suitors, with Liverpool expected to be the first club to make a move when the transfer window reopens for business at the end of the current campaign.
