Liverpool striker Danny Ings is reportedly likely to stay at the club this summer after frontrunners Crystal Palace refuse to meet his £20m asking price.

Liverpool striker Danny Ings could stay at the club this summer despite speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield.

The 26-year-old's Liverpool career has been blighted by injuries since joining from Burnley in 2015, limiting him to just 25 first-team appearances over three seasons.

Ings has told the club that he is keen to leave in search of more regular first-team football, but the Liverpool Echo reports that an exit now appears unlikely.

The Reds are understood to be holding out for a bid of around £20m for the one-time England international, but as things stand no club has matched that asking price.

Crystal Palace were thought to be leading the race for Ings's signature, but they have since switched their attention to signing Jordan Ayew on a season-long loan deal from Swansea City.

Ings is now expected to stay with Liverpool beyond today's 5pm transfer deadline, although he could still leave for a foreign team before the end of the month.
