Former Liverpool forward Milan Jovanovic has urged Anderlecht teammate Matias Suarez not to move to Anfield.
The 30-year-old Serbian moved to Merseyside in 2010 after agreeing the deal while Rafael Benitez was at the helm.
However, the Spaniard was sacked in pre-season and Jovanovic found first-team opportunities difficult to come by under Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalglish.
23-year-old Suarez is reportedly a target for the Reds but Jovanovic thinks that the Argentinean would be a lot happier elsewhere.
"I shed lots of tears in England. I felt unhappy every day over there," Jovanovic told The Sun.
"London is a nice place to live but everywhere else is depressing. I have advised Suarez not to move to Liverpool.
"They'll throw a lot of money at him but he should opt for Italy."
Jovanovic made just 10 Premier League appearances before being sold in 2011, not scoring once.
