Manuel Pellegrini reportedly wants Manchester City to complete a deal for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez if he is confirmed as the club's new manager.

Manuel Pellegrini wants Manchester City to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez if he replaces Roberto Mancini at the Etihad Stadium, according to a report.

Pellegrini is the favourite to succeed Mancini at City following the Italian's sacking after the club's failure to beat Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup final.

The Malaga boss, who will leave his post at the end of the season, wants to make his mark in Manchester by adding Suarez to his attacking force at the club, pairing him with Sergio Aguero, reports The People.

City will face a battle to sign Suarez as Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted the striker is not for sale.
