Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane was reportedly unhappy with Jurgen Klopp's decision to publicly back Virgil van Dijk to win the 2019 Ballon d'Or ahead of him.
Mane finished fourth in the rankings, behind Cristiano Ronaldo in third and Van Dijk in second, with Barcelona and Argentina attacker Lionel Messi claiming the award once again.
However, according to France Football, Klopp's decision to publicly call for central defender Van Dijk to pick up the accolade did not go down well with Mane.
The 28-year-old has again been in impressive form for the European champions during the 2019-20 campaign, finding the back of the net on 18 occasions in 38 appearances, in addition to providing 12 assists.
Real Madrid continue to be strongly linked with the Senegal international, who has netted 77 times in 161 outings for the Reds since arriving from Southampton in July 2016.
Mane's current deal at Anfield runs until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
