Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany is disappointed that his side failed to make the most of their opportunities.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany believes that his side only got a point against Napoli because they failed to make the most of opportunities in the first half.

Both sides made their first ever Champions League appearance last night and the City skipper is hopeful that his side will learn a lot from the 1-1 draw.

"It was more open than I would have hoped. We should maybe have scored a goal or two in the first half and it would not have been so difficult in the second," he told Sky Sports News.

"We played against a very good Napoli side, credit to them, they did what they needed to do.

"We'll just learn from this game and we have a good enough team to see this through."

Aleksandar Kolarov netted from a free kick after Edison Cavani gave Napoli a second-half lead at the Etihad Stadium.
