Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Frank Lampard will sit out Tuesday's trip to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League through injury.
The experienced midfielder was stretchered off with a thigh problem during his side's 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Pellegrini revealed that the 36-year-old had not travelled with the rest of the squad due to the injury.
City are currently in third place in Group E after taking one point from their opening two games of the competition.
