Frank Lampard to miss Manchester City's Russia trip

A thigh injury will keep Frank Lampard out of Manchester City's Champions League encounter against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday, Manuel Pellegrini confirms.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Frank Lampard will not travel to Russia for Tuesday's Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow.

The former England international limped off during City's 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday afternoon with a thigh complaint.

When asked about the injury, Pellegrini told reporters: "Frank has a muscle injury. We will see on Sunday after the scan but, for the moment, he will not travel to Russia."

Loanee midfielder Lampard, 36, has scored four goals in his six outings in all competitions for City this season.
