Robbie Savage "would pay" to watch Cristiano Ronaldo

Robbie Savage praises the performance of Cristiano Ronaldo during Real Madrid's 3-2 win over Manchester City.

Former Wales international Robbie Savage has said that Cristiano Ronaldo was the player "we love to watch" during Real Madrid's 3-2 win over Manchester City.

Savage has admitted that Ronaldo, who scored the winner and could have had more as City struggled to deal with him, deserves to be paid as the "second best player in the world".

"It was the Ronaldo that we love to watch at times," Savage told BBC Sport. "Yes he can be frustrating to watch at times but I would pay to watch him.

"He is wonderful and is the second best player in the world and should be paid like he is the second best player in the world."

Ronaldo has scored 101 league goals for Real in 89 appearances.
