Edin Dzeko: Hull City win was "something special"

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko hails the 2-0 win against Hull City as "something special".

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko hailed the 2-0 win against Hull City as "something special".

Captain Vincent Kompany was sent off for a professional foul after just 10 minutes, but City made light of his dismissal with goals from David Silva and Dzeko.

Speaking to BT Sport, the Bosnian striker said: "We continued [after the sending off] and we showed something special, especially after last week when we lost to Wigan [in the FA Cup] and the defeat to Barcelona in the [Champions League].

"We showed character with 10 men and especially over 80 minutes, it was a great job. Vinny is our leader, our captain and our heart.

"I think it was a foul on Vincent by Nikica Jelavic [before the sending-off] but I hope he will be back soon."

City are now up to second in the Premier League.
