Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola pays tribute to his players following Saturday's 7-2 win over Stoke City in the Premier League.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed his delight after his team put seven goals past Stoke City in Saturday afternoon's Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium.

City had been knocked off first position in the Premier League courtesy of Manchester United's 0-0 draw at Liverpool in the early kickoff, but a 7-2 win over Stoke saw the Citizens return to the summit in emphatic fashion.

Guardiola, whose team have now scored 29 times in their eight Premier League matches this season, has branded the victory 'the best performance since he arrived'.

"I am happy for the victory, we had to focus after the international break, to start well. We didn't lose easy balls, we play fast and simple. That's why I am very pleased. It is the best [performance] since I am here," Guardiola told reporters.

Next up for City is a Champions League group match against Napoli on Tuesday night, before returning to league action with a home game against Burnley next weekend.
