Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that he wants to see Riyad Mahrez on the opposition teamsheet when his side face Leicester City this weekend.
Leicester boss Claude Puel ruled out the possibility of Mahrez featuring on Saturday, having seen the Algerian winger fail to turn up to training since a deadline-day move to Man City fell through last week.
However, Mahrez did return to training for the first time today and could yet play a part against the team he was desperate to join, and Guardiola is keen to see the 26-year-old rediscover his best form.
Asked if he wanted to see Mahrez play, Guardiola told reporters at his pre-match press conference: "Hopefully. I wish he comes back soon to play football because we enjoy watching him play.
"Hopefully as soon as possible he comes back with Leicester and plays at his level."
Mahrez has scored eight Premier League goals and set up seven more for Leicester so far this season.
