Roberto Mancini reveals that Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli "will not be playing" in the next few games for the North West side.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has warned Mario Balotelli that he must “adapt” to not playing every game for the North West side.

The 20-year-old, who has made only one appearance this season in City’s 3-0 victory over Wigan Athletic, has been resigned to relinquishing his place to the likes of Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko.

"I count myself very lucky to rely on four strikers, especially in a situation where the team needs to play every three days,” Sky Sports News quotes Mancini as saying. “I can have a good turnover of the strikers.

"For now Mario will have to adapt to the situation, he will not be playing for the next few matches.”

City kick off their Champions League campaign with a home fixture against Napoli tonight (Wednesday).
