Besiktas board member Ahmet Kavalci has claimed that the Turkish outfit are in talks with Manchester City over a move for England international Joleon Lescott.
The 31-year-old joined City from Everton in 2009, but has struggled for first-team football this season, appearing just 13 times in all competitions.
It had previously been claimed that the Premier League side were unprepared to sanction any outgoings in January, but the Turkish outfit have revealed that contact has been made for Lescott.
"We are negotiating with Manchester City over defender Joleon Lescott. There will be some important development about this on Thursday," Kavalci told AA.
Besiktas currently sit fifth in their domestic league.
