Ilkay Gundogan will reportedly sign a new long-term deal at Manchester City after agreeing fresh terms with the club.
The Germany international, who joined City in 2016, entered this season with just one year left on his existing contract.
It had been suggested that Gundogan could make a return to the Bundesliga either this summer or next year, when he would be a free agent.
According to The Mirror, the 28-year-old has struck an agreement with City and the club will confirm the deal over the next few weeks.
Gundogan has battled with injury problems since joining City but enjoyed an impressive 2018-19 campaign, scoring six times and registering eight assists in 50 appearances.
City remain active in the market with four days until the deadline and are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Juventus full-back Joao Cancelo.
